Essential Position Requirements

• A minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and young people that have displayed extreme challenging and pain-based behaviours such as verbal aggression, physical aggression, self-injury etc within a residential setting or health and social care setting within the last 5 years

• Candidate to have experience in working one on one with children and young people that have displayed extreme challenging and pain-based behaviours ideally within a residential setting.

• A degree level qualification in a relevant discipline would be desirable, but essentially a minimum qualification requirement would be a level 4 diploma within a related discipline to the industry.

• Ability to do shift work (Approx. 5 shifts a fortnight for full time staff), and sleeping sleepovers. Please note that shift patterns will be based on the needs of the children or young people within the home or within the Area, therefore there can be a mix of sleepovers and support shifts.

• Must have a full UK or Republic of Ireland driver’s license for at least 12 months

• Able to obtain the necessary international police check and any associated area police check’s & statutory state check requirements for the specific state that you will be employed within Australia.

• Able to obtain the VISA requirements before entry into Australia and to have the right to work for Safe Places for Children in Australia.

• Certain criteria must be met in regard to the VISA requirements, this will be dependent on either a 417 (Preferable option for a quick turnaround in VISA being issued) or Skills in Demand (SID) 482 VISA. Be eligible for the Permanent Residency (after sponsorship) as set by the Australian Government (PR conditions are set by Australia Immigration Department)
