Youth Worker Position Requirements

Please note that you will need your Passport, Drivers Licence, Proof of Address and relevant Qualification as part of the Application process. You will also be required to sign and return the Health Declaration Form and Authority to Transfer Data.
A minimum 1 years’ full time employed experience working with young people that have displayed challenging or pain-based behaviours such as verbal and physical aggression preferably in a residential setting and within the last 5 years Please note this is assessed at the Eligibility Check
A degree level qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology or a degree in a relevant subject field would be desirable, but essentially the minimum qualification requirement would be a level 4 diploma (In a Relevant Subject Field). Please note these are assessed at the Eligibility Check
Ability to do shift work (Approx. 5 shifts a fortnight for full time staff) and sleepovers. Please note that shift patterns will be based on the needs of the children or young people within the home or within the Area, therefore there can be a mix of sleepovers and support shifts.
Must have a full UK or Republic of Ireland driver’s license for at least 12 months
Able to obtain the necessary international police check and any associated area police check’s & statutory state check requirements for the specific state that you will be employed within Australia.
Able to obtain the VISA requirements before entry into Australia and to have the right to work for Safe Places for Children in Australia.
Certain criteria must be met in regard to the VISA requirements, this will be dependent on either a 417 (Preferable option for a quick turnaround in VISA being issued) or Skills in Demand (SID) 482 VISA
Be eligible for the Permanent Residency (after sponsorship) as set by the Australian Government (PR conditions are set by Australia Immigration Department)
